Sangeeta Sirohi

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

After living across countries in Asia, Africa, and North America, I found my home in Vancouver, BC. Immersing myself in various cultures and communities fueled my passion for understanding human behavior. To deepen my knowledge, I pursued a second Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from SFU, Canada, and later earned a Master of Science degree in Forensic Psychology from Florida, USA. My research projects explored topics such as decision-making, sexual abuse, cyber dating violence, cognitive processing of attention, and family interventions for preventing youth gang violence. After developing a deep understanding of cognitive processes and human behavior, I underwent training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches to promote mental health.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling and learning about historical landmarks. While in Vancouver, I love to explore and enjoy this beautiful land and its rich multiculturalism.

My Therapeutic Approach

My passion is to help people who are experiencing challenges build a more meaningful and enjoyable life. I pride myself on employing a collaborative and compassionate approach while fostering a safe and inclusive space for sharing and exploring. My goal is to journey with my clients while they process the past, find acceptance, define new goals, and find new confidence, love and peace. I believe every person deserves to live a life of happiness.

Through my professional training and experience in the mental health field, I have been inspired to work with individuals, couples and families, from a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, and stages of life. I am passionate about helping those facing the impact of mental health and life challenges. My approach to therapy combines Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Eco-systemic family therapy as well as Gottman Method when working with couples.

A Core Part of My Work: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

A cornerstone of my approach is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — an evidence-based therapy that helps people who struggle with intense emotions and patterns of thinking or behaving that feel hard to manage. DBT blends acceptance and change: it teaches people how to accept themselves as they are and develop practical skills to cope with distress, regulate emotions, build self-awareness, and communicate more effectively.

I often draw on DBT’s four skill areas:

  • Mindfulness: staying present and aware of thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental way.
  • Distress Tolerance: coping with crisis situations without making things worse.
  • Emotion Regulation: understanding, naming, and managing intense emotions.
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness: building healthy relationships, setting boundaries, and asking for needs to be met.

Supporting Healthy Relationships: The Gottman Couples Method
When working with couples, I integrate the Gottman Method, which is based on decades of research about what makes relationships thrive. This approach focuses on helping partners strengthen friendship and intimacy, manage conflict in healthy ways, and build a shared sense of meaning and purpose in their lives together.

In practice, I help couples:

  • Understand and break unhealthy communication patterns.
  • Learn tools for managing conflict without blame or defensiveness.
  • Build deeper emotional connection and trust.
  • Develop shared goals, rituals, and dreams for their future together.
  • Repair hurts and strengthen their “emotional bank account” through small, everyday acts of love and respect.

The Gottman Method gives couples practical, research-based tools to shift from patterns that keep them stuck to new ways of relating that help them feel more supported and connected.

Ecosystemic Family Therapy
In addition to individual and couples work, I use principles of Ecosystemic Family Therapy when supporting families or when relational dynamics are part of the client’s concerns. This framework views people not in isolation, but as part of larger systems — family, community, culture, and other relationships that shape who they are and how they cope.

Ecosystemic Family Therapy focuses on how patterns within the family system influence each member’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. By exploring these interactions, we can better understand where unhelpful patterns come from and how they can be shifted. This approach is especially useful for families navigating conflict, intergenerational trauma, cultural transitions, parenting challenges, or major life changes.

When appropriate, I help families build healthier ways of communicating, set clearer boundaries, and find strengths within the family that can support healing and growth. By viewing problems in context, we can create more sustainable change not just for the individual, but for the family as a whole.

Bringing It All Together

My practice also integrates Attachment and Trauma-based theories, mindfulness, laughter yoga, and somatic relaxation techniques to help calm the body while processing the mind’s experiences.

Through open collaboration, I provide feedback, offer insight, and co-create personalized treatment plans that match each client’s unique story and goals. My overall approach is simple but powerful: to help people accept their emotions, challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, and build practical tools to transform patterns that no longer serve them — so they can move forward with more confidence, connection, and peace.

Kemila Zsange

Hypnotherapist

Kemila Zsange is a Registered Clinical Counselling-Hypnotherapist in Vancouver, BC. Dedicated to her work, Kemila has been one of the top-rated hypnotherapists in Vancouver for the past 9 years, empowering individuals on mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. Kemila specializes in helping people with emotional stability, behaviour modification, and mental balance. She is known for facilitating deep work for wellbeing, assisting people to access their inner resources and wisdom through hypnotherapy.

My Approach

I do not follow a ready-made formula but work individually with each client.

Every ailment, distress, pain, and anguish in your life has brought you to face something so you become a person more true to yourself. In fact, “become” here is not quite the right word. “Realize” is a better one.

My approach is to use whatever comes up in your life this moment to have you “realize” more of your true nature, to raise your vibration, and function on a higher level.

Sometimes I don’t even do formal “inductions” to hypnotize you. we just have a conversation. And the questions I ask you can’t have answers from conceptualized headspace. You have to go within to access that inner knowingness to find the answer. Thus you are truly your own master. And I help you facilitate the accessing part.

My Ideal Clients

Not everyone is my ideal client. If you think that hypnosis is a magic pill, that it can do things to you or make you do things, then I am not a good fit for you. I work very well with people who have done some of their own inner work, be it soul searching, inner curiosity, other types of practice such as meditation, journaling, or arts, and who are interested in Inner Peace, not just in outer achievements. People who take responsibility for their own life, and who can allow themselves to shift from inside are people with whom I consider myself a good fit.

You and I are probably a good fit if you are:a therapista business ownera curious persona creative person: writer, musician, photographer, painter, actor…someone working with your body like a dancer or an athletea dreamer.

Consultations

You are encouraged to first do your own research. Our website has a wealth of information on general questions such as “How does hypnotherapy work?” When you have something specific and would like to discuss those specific questions and concerns, please feel free to schedule a 30-minute consultation, in-person or virtually. This is an opportunity to speak with Kemila to see if hypnotherapy is a good fit for you. We’ll ask questions of each other. An in-person consultation is CAD$45. An online (Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, or FaceTime), or a phone consultation is CAD$35.

As a result of having a consultation with Kemila, you will leave with a clear insight into the potential benefits of hypnosis and how you might feel about working with her. You will have all of your questions answered and be empowered to make an informed decision about your future.

Single Appointments

Single appointments are suitable for someone interested in trying hypnotherapy, including past-life regressions, for the first time, or for someone who has undergone a treatment plan and desires occasional reinforcement of the tools that they have learned.

The first session is $250. After that, each single session is $210.

Generally speaking, it’s not recommended, but if for any reason, a one-hour initial session is all that’s required, it will be CAD$165 for the session.

Packages

Session packages provide significant discounts over the cost of single appointments and are affordable options for a course of treatment. Packages are available for three and five sessions. The package pricing below includes the first session.

A 3-session package may be suitable for a simple single presenting issue.

A 5-session package provides time for a more thorough treatment process. Issues can be more complex than they initially seem, can lead to other unresolved earlier problems, or simply be difficult to pre-determine the treatment length beforehand. For these reasons, five-session packages represent the greatest value and present the most flexible treatment option.

A 7-session package offers more ongoing support in challenging times.

Packages are also suitable as part of ongoing treatment for multiple related or separate presenting issues.

Complimentary out-of-session phone support is part of the package.
